Chicory Carajillo with Creamer
Sometimes I just don’t want to drink something caffeinated, but I still crave something that has a slight (very slightly 😂) coffee flavor. So instead of coffee I used chicory coffee which is caffeine-free. I also wanted to add a cute little latte stencil art design on top because, hey, why not make it look even more pretty? After all, a visually appealing drink can really enhance the overall experience!
Ingredients:
3 oz brewed chicory coffee (let it cool down)
1.5 oz licor 43
3/4 oz mezcal
1-1.5 oz Creamer (I used Elmhurst Apple Pie Spice Oat & Cashew Creamer)
1/2 oz cinnamon-infused brown sugar syrup (optional - I personally didn’t use it)
Cinnamon powder for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Cocktail
Add cooled down chicory coffee, licor 43, mezcal into the shaker.
Put an ice cube or two into the shaker and shake.
Put an big ice cube into the glass
Pour out the drink on top of a big ice cube.
Creamer
Using a handheld milk frother, froth the creamer until it’s mostly froth.
Garnish (optional)
Put a latte stencil on top of the drink
Using a strainer, put the strainer into a small bowl.
Put some cinnamon powder into the strainer and yes some of the powder will fall out the strainer into the bowl. It’s better to do this to prepare so it doesn’t all drop onto the top of the stencil at once and ruin your design.
Then carry that strainer slowly over a few inches above your stencil.
Gently tap it against your hand until you feel like you sprinkled over all of the stencil.
Lift the stencil and enjoy!
