Suntory Plum Liqueur (Whisky Blend)

One of my most favorite light liqueur is plum liqueur (in Japanese it is called umeshu)! So when I went to the Suntory Yamazaki Distillery for the whisky tour experience and saw this being sold at their souvenir shop, I had to buy it! It did not disappoint either.

I will point out that I have tried the generic plum liqueur sold here on the west coast of the United States, but I still have a very strong preference for the plum liqueur selection that I can buy in Japan. This preference stems from the fact that the flavor of the Japanese plum liqueur tends to be much more intense and satisfying. I know, I am definitely biased with this opinion, but I can't help how I feel about it! Haha!

This Suntory version is sweet, has a strong flavor and is best enjoyed straight with an ice cube. I would definitely buy it again.

If you're fortunate enough to find yourself in Japan, I wholeheartedly suggest trying this delightful liqueur if you enjoy the sweet and aromatic flavors of plum. It's a unique experience that perfectly captures the essence of the region!
