The SG Club
If you’re looking for a lively or relaxing vibe check out the SG club which has 3 floors with different settings.
This bar has a 19th-century-style saloon with a Japanese twist. The bar vibes remind me of the mob museum bar in Las Vegas which is also a saloon theme.
The SG bar is ranked as the top 23rd bar in Asia and rightfully so! There are 2 bars inside with the entrance being the casual Guzzle upstairs and the downstairs being the posh Sip. We preferred the downstairs more since it’s a bit more quiet and kind of geared towards people who might want to concentrate on tasting the drink while talking a bit more quietly. Again to reiterate you can absolutely still talk at your regular tone, it’s just quieter.
The top floor which I haven’t been is apparently the cigar room.
As for my favorite drink at the SG club, I cannot decide between Bathtub Yuzu Drop vs Drunken Grandma’s Apple Pie. The bathtub yuzu drop consist of osamanthus, chrysanthemum, jasmine gin, lychee, and yuzu and if you like sweet and slightly floral flavor this is a perfect drink for you. The Drunken Grandma’s Apple Pie consist of baked apple, calvados, browned butter, egg white, white miso. It literally tasted like an apple pie I grew up having! Unforgettable.
The Whisky Nigiri had a really interesting umami flavor.
The drinks are definitely on the pricier end for Japan but totally worth visiting! I hope you go check it out and enjoy it like we did. :)
Note: sometimes it gets very crowded, so I highly recommend making reservations if you know your schedule ahead of time. Especially if you want the downstairs Posh sip area.
